Vittorio Fontana

Vittorio Fontana graduated in 2012 from the Department of Engineering “Enzo Ferrari” (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy) in Mechanical Engineering, after a 3-month internship at the Exeter Advanced Technologies (University of Exeter, UK). For this internship, Vittorio got a scholarship within the Erasmus Consortia Placement program, managed by the University of Florence (Italy). During his internship, he studied shrinkage and crystallization of PEK parts made by EOSINT P800, a selective laser sintering machine. He is currently taking a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy). In 2013, Vittorio received another scholarship and spent the Fall Semester at the Oxford Brookes University (UK), within the Erasmus program. Since July 2014, he has been doing a 6-month internship at the SIM Group, under the supervision of his Italian professor Giovanni Berselli, Phd. He is developing the cooling and extrusion systems for a 3D printer within the project “Soft Tissue Simulant Rapid Prototyping”, supported by CIMIT.
